The Grange Park Primary School House System is a structure where pupils are divided into groups, called "houses," for various activities and competitions. These houses foster a sense of community, teamwork, and healthy competition amongst pupils. Pupils are typically assigned to a house upon enrolment and remain in that house throughout their time in primary school.
The key features of our primary school house system are:
Pupils are assigned to a house, often upon entering the school, and remain in that house throughout their primary school years. Siblings are assigned the same house.
Our houses are named after local Irish trees all found in Strickland’s Glen, and each house is associated with a specific colour.
Pupils can earn house points for good work, positive behaviour, participation in school events, and other achievements.
Houses compete against each other in various activities, such as sports days, academic challenges, and other school events.
The house system provides pupils with a sense of belonging and identity beyond their classroom.
Houses encourage teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills amongst pupils, with older pupils often taking on leadership roles as house captains.
The house system fosters healthy competition, encouraging pupils to strive for excellence while also promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The house system helps to build a strong sense of community within the school, connecting pupils from different year groups and fostering positive relationships between pupils and staff.
